I know this sounds crazy (crazy!), but maybe driving a 65-year-old and completely unknown car cross-country is not, like, the most optimal plan. But it is a ticket to adventure.
Doc may have been overheating in Reno in 90+ degree heat yesterday, but this morning he drove around SF as pretty as you please, with the temp gauge mostly staying put (except when I let it idle for about 15 mins at operating temp - and then only a bit).
Also had a bath, so here's some nice sparkly pics in SOMA.

have kids spotted it yet? You could do some good with it like visits to children's hospitals.

The first thing I did this morning was show it to my friend's 3.5 year old boy who yelled "Doc" and sat behind the wheel for 45 mins, and didn't want to leave. It didn't hurt that I bought the "Doc Eyes" wind screen visor before I ever had the car.
I will consider it. Maybe I could paint "Fabulous Hudson (Not A) Hornet" on the side. Any idea what a Lightning McQueen is?
